Pause helps you rewrite emotional messages with AI, then send them through a pair-code inbox with optional translation and reply delay. I built the SwiftUI app with Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In, REST networking, APNs, StoreKit 2 (subscription and token packs), TipKit, and multilingual UI strings.
People often need to say something important to a partner, but a first draft can be rushed or too sharp, and sending it at once can make things worse—while a second full chat app is more than they need. Pause (Thoughtful Messages) is a SwiftUI iOS app that uses server-side AI to turn rough drafts into calmer, clearer messages, with optional translation and staged reply-unlock timing so both people can pause before responding. Users pair with a code, use an inbox for threads and read state, and get push notifications, with access gated by credits and StoreKit 2 (a subscription plus consumable token packs). Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In, REST to a Node backend (async/await, Codable), TipKit, Firebase at startup, and app-level localization round out the stack. I owned the iOS client end-to-end: auth, AI and messaging, credits, APNs token sync, StoreKit, inbox and thread UX, reply-delay picker and countdown, and polish including tips, localization, and error handling.
